1. We've had two players recently get a sixth-year of eligibility - Kirston Pittman and Charles Alexandar. Both red-shirted and both lost a season to injury. Richard Murphy is thinking of petitioning for one this year.

Personally, I'd rather Blackwell than Murphy next year. But that's me.
  2. Those three guys had injuries in two different seasons, though, unlike Blackwell. I think that is the issue.
  3. Correct and the staff already got their answer on Blackwell's chances of landing a 6th year.
  4. :geaux: Pretty amazing that the NCAA won't consider giving a medical waiver to Blackwell when he's hurt on the very first play in the first game of the season! :rolleye33: How can they consider that an unreasonable or deniable request? I could understand it if we were talking about the third game of the season or something. :LSU231:
  5. Regardless, I'm glad he's going to be back. Our starting OL being back in tact should provide a huge lift to our running game down the stretch.
  6. Because he wasn't out a majority of 2 seasons.

  7. :geaux: Wow. Didn't realize that it had to be 2 seasons to qualify for the waiver. That really makes it tough to qualify for one. :LSU231:
  8. That's why Pittman and Alexander got it...and why Murphy could possibly get it.
  9. Murphy would be a special case given he didn't miss 2 seasons with injury but missed his 1st year because of NCAA Clearinghouse issues and only lost one season to injury. At least that is how I remember it but maybe I am wrong.
  10. Blackwell is only a Junior right? He will be back next year no matter what.
