There was no need for him to resign, all he had to do was address a campus issue with some sincerity, case closed in my opinion.

Is it? What just happened? Someone claimed they were called a bad word and the university president was forced to resign before the the university suffered consequences.

I agree with this. His response at the parade was mostly responsible for turning an ember into a fire.

Things about this that are frustrating:
The student on the hunger strike is in the Master's program. He got his undergrad at Mizzou. Why stay?
If the Tigers record was 9-0 instead of 4-5, they wouldn't be doing this protest
Pinkel may have seen the writing on the wall and decided to join to save his job
Knowing that some folks fight for their life every day makes me pissed that someone is willing to give theirs up for a cause that is "just" but certainly not worth dying for.
