Nice. If you hadn't said it was App State I would have guessed Vermont or New Hampshire. I have spent time in the Raleigh-Durham area but only driven through through east NC driving from Tennessee.
Leaf season is a big deal in Boone. Homecoming is often scheduled during the peak weeks. Hotel rooms are booked a year in advance or more and restaurant waits can be hours. Traffic is a nightmare but some days, I swear the trees look like they are plugged in to an electrical outlet.
