No ... actually you don’t have to change a thing about the 14th. All you would need to do is create law, or an amendment if necessary to define “born” as meaning to a LEGAL resident of the United States.

This is what Trump is shooting for. Even if it gets to the Amendment phase, opposing such would be a guaranteed political death sentence.

then give work permits to the illegals and yes, a pathway to citizenship because it it the most practical option to ensure compliance and there’s no way or political will to put that cat back in the bag

Your so called path to citizenship has to include a thorough vetting, .... and only in exchange for laws banning sanctuary cities and states, laws requiring all law enforcement to cooperate with ICE, an elimination of the 100 mile rule for apprehension, and funding to build the wall. There also needs to be a statute of limitations for any illegal seeking citizenship to REGISTER. Those who continue to live in the shadows past the time limit will lose out on the opportunity. Failure to appear for your hearing is automatic ticket home when you are caught unless a valid, corroborated excuse is produced. Also, elimination of the conflict in law that led to the separating of adults from children, such that if you come here illegally, you will be detained as a family unit until your hearing, at which time it will be determined whether or not you get to stay or are sent back.

Nobody, including us racists, sexists, homophobic, bigoted conservatives hold any ill will towards the hard working immigrants who come here other than their tendency to thwart laws. But without enforcement of LEGAL immigration, the door is open for gang members, and human traffickers.

Fix the law, and we all will gladly support a program to process the illegals that are already here.

If we could throw out every gump, dead or alive, I'm all in. Because, yunno, gumps is hatched, they ain't born or any thing similar. Send em with the trailers and you could make a case for preserving the species. How does this not work?

Interesting commentary. I think she made some valid points. Maybe its time to see what the USSC says on it.
