I doubt that if he would've continue to play that he would have been a model citizen. The man is a sexual predator he would have acted out eventually. He was a great back don't get me wrong, just messed up in the head.
Re: Biggest Recruiting Busts off all time!!! I disagree. People really only knew about his speed from the track videos that were going around the internet at the time. I think the main reason he came to LSU was because of the presitigious track program. It seems to me that that was more important to him, especially when considering all the talk of him running in the '04 Olympics. Honestly, I don't think he really cares all that much about football. He's concentrating on winning gold in '08 - which I'm sure he will.
yep he's used like ron dayne was supposed to be when they drafted him so high. get near the goal line in comes jacobs who is a load. probably had almost as many rushing tds as tiki. just think, Caddi wins ROY in nfl, Ronnie Brown was runner-up and their other linebacker err runningback jacobs playing a big part on another team. pretty impressive backfield. kenny irons surely looks as good as all the above as well and he was their fullback. ok enough auburn props for one millenium from me.
Yep... 7 to TB's 9. When you're 6'4", 260... it's just a matter of falling into the endzone. I remember when they played the Saints and some DB hit him hard at the 1 and he just crushed him on a way to a TD.
How about Randy Livingston. I liked him, but he never lived up to the potential. Too injured. Never scored more than 14 points per game. Not bad, but not great.
Livingston, like Josh Booty, was an all SEC player who just never became an ALl American superstar like some folks wanted. That ain't exactly a bust. Fess Irvin, now there's a bust in LSU basketball. A three-time Parade All-American and MacDonalds Dream Team in high school, he never clicked at LSU and transferred to James Madison.
Jermaine Sharpe from Ouachita Christian, Parade all-american, was supposed to be the truth but I don't remember him doing anything.
One more: Kevin Franklin Played in the same backfield at Catholic as Warrick Dunn and was actually more highly rated coming out of high school. Was also a beast on the track (along with Dunn), Catholic had one of the fastest high school relay teams I've ever seen with those two guys. Franklin just didn't pan out at LSU, I think he may have transferred his senior year to I-AA?
Thomas Dunston is another who I think has an undeserved bad rep. He was only guilty of not being Trev Faulk. He was thrown in at linebacker before he was ready and had a few bad games like underclassmen often do. But he was spirited, played very hard, and loved LSU. He would probably have developed into a solid senior player for the team. But he took a load of criticism from the fans who were really just mad at Gerry Dinardo's two losing seasons in which it was Dunston's unfortunate luck to be playing. The public criticism depressed him and he quit football. Nick might have found a role for Dunston.
On the opposite end of the spectrum...................who would be the largest impact athlete that no one had ever heard of before they got to LSU (perhaps a walk-on that made it large)? This might require some of the "elder" LSU fans to come up with someone.
