Re: Biggest Recruiting Busts off all time!!! Yes, they have such things. He was recruited here as a team effort by Nick Saban and Pat Henry before he left for Texas A&M. If you remember his recruiting process you will remember how important the track program and his ability to compete and track to prepare for a track career were to him. *EDIT* I was not saying that he was only a track recruit. Just pointing out that he was also recruited for track. The subject is worst bust of all sports.
Fine. Thus far... (and if he continues to play like he has played) XC will be one of the biggest busts ever at LSU. With #3 and #80 returning, as well as #9 in front of him, I don't see much hope for him anyway. Dude's got 4.2 straight line speed...it's a shame.
Re: Biggest Recruiting Busts off all time!!! I am absolutely fully aware of those facts. Having said that, they have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the discussion. EDIT: Just read your edit, but the guy was not hyped nationally because he can run track. He was hyped because he was a top 5 WR in the nation acording to scouting services.
Re: Biggest Recruiting Busts off all time!!! How so? The kid was a recruit for two sports and is the best 200M runner in the country so cannot be called a bust.
atleast XC has scored. what about mcconathy (sp?) the LB that wigged out and transferred to TX. he was a highly touted recruit, i believe. didnt damien james get a ton of stars? he played (started one year?), but never wowed.
That's another good one, his dad got one look at Teppers D and drove him to Texas after just one week of practice. He didn't stay there long either, probably selling used cars somewhere.
Re: Biggest Recruiting Busts off all time!!! We'll never know if Davey would have taken his job. Booty was the starter when he left. Booty was the best QB in the SEC that year, it's fairly simple. The guy gets a bad rep because he blew a couple of big games, but on the whole he was a better than average LSU quarterback.
Derron Parquet - I think he transferred and had some law troubles Most of it wasn't his fault, pretty much stayed hurt his entire career - Ed Dangerfield
