LINK According to court records, the hotel owner smelled marijuana coming from Davis' room on February 7th. When the owner knocked on room 208, someone inside the room told him to “F*@# off!” Aberdeen police then responded to the hotel and Davis gave signed consent to search his room "They recovered 126 grams of marijuana,” said Aberdeen Police Lieutenant William Reiber, “In addition to that there was a brief case that contained 92,164 dollars of U.S. currency along with a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics."
Amen. One, it’s time to recognize that drug use is a health issue and should be treated as such. Second it’s time to operate from a foundation of facts. If the objective of making something illegal is to protect the health of the public then there are many other items on the list that are far more deadly than pot. Heart disease is the number one killer. Smoking cigarettes, containing a legal drug known as nicotine, directly contributes to heart disease as well as cancer. Deaths attributed to alcohol use and abuse continues to take thousands and thousands of lives every year. Hell, obesity related diseases and deaths are higher. There is no evidence or statistics that indicate a death related to pot. It is not an addictive substance in and of itself. Although if you have a tendency towards or history of addiction then you might become “dependent” on the effects of the drug. There is no evidence suggesting a chemical dependency. Now this is not to suggest that it is healthy or doesn’t have a negative impact on health. It does affect the brain. It affects the lungs. It can have an emotional impact (both positive and negative). If you continually introduce large amounts of foreign substances into your body for a prolonged period of time there are consequences. As with anything you put in your body, you need to do your research. Learn from multiple sources and perspectives and make your decision for your life from a foundation of facts and sound understanding. It’s your life. It’s your body. Know what you’re doing to it. Then, as long as you’re not hurting anyone else, do what you want. Some people would prefer to go outside and run 5 miles. Others may want to smoke a joint and watch Pineapple Express. The choice is yours. And remember. The reality lies not in the extremes but somewhere in the middle. Not all smokers are potheads with no future headed for certain doom. I know many very successful people running highly successful businesses in all kinds of professions who enjoy an occasional toke. You might be shocked. Or you may not.
I thought marijuana was legal for recreational use in the state of Washington...wtf?! Edit my bad it was Aberdeen Maryland lol
126 grams is not recreational use. The 92k and ledger is a serious problem for him. Think he was cut and is a fa.
126 grams is only about a quarter of a pound. Lot's of recreational users purchase that amount so as to have a supply on hand without always running out and it saves money to buy in bulk. Baby has made lots of money in his NBA career so $92k is not an unreasonable amount of money for him to have if he wanted the cash to make it rain or something. Now the ledger might be a problem. What do these guys do with their money that they have to deal drugs? A few years ago former Cowboys O lineman Nate Newton was busted while driving through Louisiana with over 300 pounds of pot.
