The SEC will add aTm, Mizzou, WVU and Louisville. Personally, I'd court VaTech and have all the SEC schools pool their money together for the Hokies' buy out. They'd be worth it.
I know that the payout for each SEC school for last year was $219 million. For 1 year. To each school. Let's assume adding 4 more teams cuts some of that payout down. So each school is only getting $175 million (until new TV deals / contracts are signed). The buyout for a school to leave the ACC is $20 million. In my mind ANY ACC school is still open to join the SEC because they will make that buyout money back easily in the 1st year. Pull VA Tech and FSU for the east. Pull aTm and Missouri for the West and we wipe our hands of the rest.
Why would an ACC team agree to raise the buyout and then bolt after that? There's no way that they weren't already contacted by the SEC, so they must've known that they wanted to stay in the ACC otherwise they wouldn't have raised the buyout.
And I want to add two teams that can seriously challenge LSU for the SEC championship year in year out because?????
Quite possibly they didn't want to. Often a unanimous formal vote only hides the informal backroom haggling.
I agree. Texas THINKS they're BIG enough to survive alone; thing they're bigger and better than everyone that's around them.
personally, i think they should just try. i am a little tired of their shenanigans, then their whining about the fallout.
I'm still not sold on Texas, they are greedy hogs,.. but they also bring a lot to the table. When Arizona and Arizona State were added, a lot of complaints, and dire predictions were heard, but it worked out fine, I think this will too I have to say,.. the idea of playing Texas and Oklahoma on a semi-regular basis. Sounds pretty phucking fantastic to me....:yelwink2:
