if you polled D'Antoni, Scott and Avery Johnson and asked who they WOULDN'T want to play out of the potential No. 8 seeds, the answer would be a consensus Houston.
Wow, thats pretty incredible. People will make a case about how it makes their record look better, but what it really means is they are an average West team at best.
Are you referring to the Rockets or the Cavs? Cuz Clair was talking about the Cavs. And I am not sure why that is such a wow stat anyway, we're approaching 2/3 of the way thru the season and the Cavs are in the East. Sounds like they were front loaded with western conference opponents in this year's schedule. I gotta believe at this point in the season the East starts to play predominantly East opponents (and West plays West), a lot like how baseball sees pretty much all divisional play in September. The real wow stat will be that 10 western conference opponents will be at, near or above .600 winning pct at season's end.
you're right. The 9th and 10th teams out will be furious, because they could easily tackle all but 3-4 of the East teams.
I hope the Rockets do well in the 2nd half. Mainly so I don't have to hear stories every night that go like this. Some figurehead: "Well Marve, the Rocket looked so good heading into the break. I tell you what, you ask those guys -- they didn't want time off, they wanted to keep playing. As players you go on momentum, and the Rockets had that." Marve: "(laughing hysterically) Maybe thats why they say save that momentum for the end of the year." This as the Spurs wrap up the west and they each lean their heads back and laugh like two gay men sharing an appletini, while Marve tugs on the women's underwear he is wearing. Yep, that's why I hope the Rockets lose soon. PS. I hate the media.
Come on TB, Marve is such a lovable guy! I still laugh when the voice in my head reminds me of marve laced out in black leather. The guy was THE best joke going at the time...
