even though hong kong is my favorite thing and i know all about it and love it, i still think the NBA doesnt deserve criticism. they just tryin to make some cash. dont need to piss off a few hundred million fans.
Benjamin Franklin once said: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." That seems to me what the NBA is doing especially when they expelled people in US arenas for holding protest signs. It has thrived because of the freedom it enjoys here and in Europe. Sorry but a few dollars isn’t worth the price.
I don't "get" why the NFL goes out of its way to coddle that fool Kapernick, while the NBA takes an entirely different tack. And life goes on.
quite the problem...must appear to be socially conscious and yet continue to ring the cash register while appeasing china
The consequences of progressive policy. Only where do we escape to if the US becomes California? https://reason.com/2019/10/11/californians-are-fleeing-the-states-progressive-policies/
the NBA is smart for bowing down to china. its a much bigger market for them than the US. i dont see why folks are angry with them.
in this case, I don't agree, Winston,.. freedom to protest, and other amendment rights, don't apply to private property. When a person enters the building where they work, their constitutional rights are left at the door,.. people don't have the right to enter your home, or stand on your lawn to protest,.. imo, people don't have the right to protest at sporting events either
from a business perspective there shouldn’t be an issue but from an social agenda platform it seems a bit hypocritical to a segment of their fan base, depending on their politics
