I love Superior Grill. Unfortunately, I usually don't eat there when I'm in Baton Rouge because I'm always on the search for Cajun food.

I can get great Tex/Mex up here in DFW. But if Superior were in DFW, it would be in the rotation with La Hacienda Ranch and Uncle Julio's.

I like El Rio Grande on Airline Highway in BR. Its actually owned by a Mexican man unlike most of the others that are owned by corporations

La Caretta is average at best. I mean it's edible, but don't expect anything exciting.

    Superior is good, but overpriced.

I forget the name of it, but the chain place (there's another one in the Houston Galleria) by College and I-10 with the bird on the sign is way better than La Caretta and much cheaper than Superior.

Serranos is also much better than La Caretta, but also overpriced IMO.

edit: Ninfas.. I think that's what it's called..

I always thought the food at Superior was pretty good but the mararitas sucked.

Not to mention the only good Ninfa's I have ever been to was the original Mama Ninfa's in Houston. The rest of the chain restraunts just don't compare. I like Case Maria or Superior but Superior is always overcrowded and I find most items overprices. But I would go to La Carretta's over Ninfa's anytime.
