    From RAMAH:

Hey, Homers ... if you wanna come on our forum and proclaim Serio's the #1 Seafood ... with Deanie's as #2 ...

YOU HAVE NO CREDIBILITY HERE ... CITE YOUR SOURCES

DEANIE'S is far and away the BEST in America ... Ranked and acknowledged the #1 seafood in America ... look it up

    and Serio's is NOT #2 ... Middendorf's is #2 ...

and Uglesitch is NOT #3 ... NOT #4 ... NOT #5 ... and NOT #6 ... and Serio's is NOT #7 ... Mandina is ranked #7 ... remember those guys ... The Serio's Shrimp PoBoy is ranked #10 in America ... kicked so hard by #7 Mandina's, they wore their arses for a hat. I know what happened in that restaurant ... and why Mandina's won ... and no miracle will save Serio's in N.O.

YOU HAVE A SERIOUS WAKE UP CALL COMING .
Not being responsible for your restaurant education "Homers" ... we will kindly inform you that there are 37 categories in statistics kept in food services... the most important of which is how many shrimp, as every head chef in AMERICA will agree ... down to a single man. Next, your decor is not better than Deanie's ... either ... Mayonnaise means very little in this category ... Type of bread, service and location contribute to rankings.

YOU WANNA POST RUBBISH HERE ... AND SNIFF SNIFF ROUND HERE "WOOFING" ABOUT BIG BAD SERIO'S ...

    YOU ARE CALLED OUT!

WE AT DEANIE'S TAKE OUR #1 PO BOYS SERIOUSLY ... AND WITH GREAT PRIDE.

WE'VE HAD ENOUGH OF BEING SNUBBED BY THE MEDIA WHEN IT COMES TO RESPECT FOR OUR RESTAURANT ... ESPECIALLY THE RECENT AWARDS GIVEN TO JOKERS FAR LESS DESERVING THAN DEANIE'S... THE BEST SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN AMERICA ...

AS GOD IS MY LIVING JUDGE ... THE LAST PERSON ON THIS EARTH I'D WANNA BE IS MIKE SERIO WITH A ZAGAT BULLSEYE ON ME AFTER DEANIE'S GOT SCREWED BY THE MEDIA AGAIN.

WE DON'T HAVE TO TAKE IT FROM YOU HOMERS HERE ON OUR FORUM. YOU WILL BOW B4 OUR COOKING MASTERS ... AND SHOW THE PROPER RESPECT FOR OUR PO BOYS HERE ...

    or be called out.

you mess with the best ... you'll die like the rest

FYI- If you want to try Uglesich's, DO IT NOW. The family owned business will be shut down probably sometime next year. Owner has been offered a buy but won't take it. Cookbook in the makings though through a NY publishing company. I used to eat there when it was a neighborhood joint for all the workers in the area and not much more than an old style po boy shop and bar. Fried Oyster Po Boy for old timers, Paul's Fantasy off the new menu.

From someone born and raised New Orleans...

All depends on what part of town you want to eat in...
    Serios's has a great seafood po-boy.
Sid-Mar's in bucktown has, IMO, the best fried seafood in NO.
Mandina's on Canal (cemetery side and CASH ONLY) has some of the most incredible food in the city.
Deanie's was consistenly good years back. It has fallen out of favor with me.
If you are downtown, the BonTon Cafe gets my vote.

The thing to take away from this is....There are so many good restaurants in NO. Everyone has their favorites, and one survey's results over another don't mean too much.

    Eat, sleep, drink, dream, repeat!!!

Oh man. I forgot about the Bon Ton. It's at Poydras and Camp (?) a few blocks from the Superdome. The shrimp fricasee and bread pudding is as good as you'll get anywhere in the state.

Your gonna be downtown, just go to ACME Oyster House. You might also check out the Crescent City Brewhouse while you are there. You can sample different beers with all the seafood. Hope you don't get sick! ;)

Verte Marte in the Quarter has one of the best shrimp poboys I've ever had. And, their muffalettas are fantastic. And, they deliver bourbon and smokes to your door. Sweet.

    Good one Sabanfan, lol.

Hey, these Homers are easily amused and distracted ... if you doubt me, just have a conversation with one of 'em and jingle your keys or something shiny in front of them ... while they're distracted you could probably ask them ... please pass me your wallet a second ... and help yourself to a "choke a mule" stack of $1 & $5 bills.
