    LOL, good story.

I ate at Sid-Mar's about a year and a half ago, and thought it was good, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're visiting NOLA for just a few days.

Middendorf's, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Best catfish you will ever have, guaranteed. Make sure you get the thin sliced. Their flounder is also excellent. It's worth the 45 minute drive from Metairie.

I went to Middendorf's about 3 months ago. I forget what I got )platter maybe - it WASN'T the catfish) but I wasn't impressed. Since then, I've been told that I should have gotten the catfish or flounder and that's what they're "famous" for. I'll have to go back and try it.

No one has mentioned Mandina's on Canal St.
Outstanding seafood !! Easy to find for out of towners.
LSU2002, got to disagree with you on the Charbroiled Oysters at Drago's. I have had them multiple times and the only belly ache I get is from eating too many !

GW Finn's is some of the best food I've ever had.

Go to Brennan's for brunch, and get the Banana's Foster (I know you asked for seafood, but you have to go here).

When talking Po Boys in New Orleans - LSU fans should check out Mike Serios . The guy is a huge LSU fan and makes pretty damn good po-boys.

    Uglesitch's order:

    Fried green tomatoes
    Shrimp Uggie
    Paul's Fantasy
    2 Dixies

    Does it get any better?

I was just about to mention Serios. I like the atomosphere there with all the football helmets. It is also an inexpensive place to get lunch. I like either the shrimp po-boy or the alligator sausage po-boy with an Abita Beer on the side of course.

I've always thought of Serio's as a LOCAL place for people who work downtown.

It's also known more for its poboys - not necessarily seafood.

GREAT place, GREAT atmosphere, GREAT owner. And, good prices to boot.

Didn't Mike Serio play for LSU???

I'm going to have to go with Deanie's on this one. There is one in Bucktown and one in the Quarter (it's newer).
