I have had New York style pizza and that's nothing like New York Style Pizza. I've had better pizza out of the frozen foods section in a supermarket. The only thing that Schlitz and Giggles has going for it is the atmosphere and the $1 cans of Schlitz. The pizza ranges from terrible to inedible.

To make a broad generalization, dining in BR is average. There are some good places, and there are plenty of not so good places. There are a ton of average restaurants in town.

There are plenty of restaurants who think their food is excellent, but they don't really know good food, so in their limited opinion, they are tops above the rest.

Been wanting to try Byronz, just haven't made it over there yet. Same with Doe's.

Doe's isn't fancy. It's a good cut of beef in very large portions. Don't waste money on the sides. Enjoy the bigger 24oz bone-in cowboy cut ribeye.

I've never been to Doe's but I used to eat at a steak house in the same location that was called Chicago's. Their steaks were great.

    Fast Food: Cane's

Burger: I try to stay away from burgers at restaurants since I can make amazing burgers myself but the pepperjack bacon stack at Champ's impresses me every time I have it.

    Seafood/Cajun: Mike Anderson's

    Mexican: Ninfas

    MEAT: Texas de Brazil

    Asian/Sushi: Wahada

Italian: Pretty much the only thing left that I know of outside of chains is Monjuni's. IIRC Carraba's is Italian and pretty good as well.

    Greek and Lebanese: Albasha

    Buffet: Great Wall

    Other: Izzo's

There is also a place that I haven't tried yet on Sherwood. It starts with an "N" and it's supposed to be some sort of sushi/seafood buffet. I also hear it's a little pricey.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you wind up taking your mother to dinner?

What do you guys think about Jambalaya Shoppe? I ate there Sunday when I was in BR.. always liked their Jambalaya, not a huge fan of their gumbo.
