Randy's is terrific. He's a great host, as well, usually walking around the dining rooms with a cocktail in his hands, greeting the diners.
I live in a tiny town with one cafe, I can't call it a restaurant. Come to New Ulm, 90 miles west of Houston in a beautiful part of Texas. The Texas Star Cafe serves great chicken fried steak. Huge, crisp, cream gravy with potatoes, rolls, salad and pintos.
I haven't dined at too many steakhouses in Houston so don't know if it is the best but that pork chop was one of the best cuts of meat I have ever consumed. Not sure which one I was at but I believe it was on the North side of Houston.
I agree on the pork chop. It's a scary piece of meat! If it was on the north side, it could have been Woodlands(I-45), Memorial(I-10), or Champions(249). And I think they are running a special on Fridays for that same pork chop! May have to go get one this week - thanks for jogging my memory!
I drive by that all the time going between Monroe and BR. Didn't really know what it was...I might check it out when I go back to BR on friday. What's good there?
five and ten. besides actually going there, the best evidence i can provide is that the atlanta paper named it the best restaurant in atlanta even though its 75 miles away.
