1. If you could only go to one place, it'd have to be Poor Boy Lloyd's downtown on Lafayette and Florida streets. That place has been a Baton Rouge landmark for 4 decades (it opened in the 60's). However, although I've eaten there during the day, I'm not sure if it's open for dinner.

The other awesome po boys I know of are at George's on Perkins right beneath I-10. Their kitchen stays open pretty late. I was there last week on Thanksgiving night watching the USC v Ariz St game, and my mouth is still watering just thinking about it :)

  2. Good eats alone is worth the $20. I get to find out what everybody had for lunch and dinner, as well as print up some pretty good recipes. I'm trying the buffalo chicken dip for my daughters b-day next weekend.
  3. Tiger Stadium - Manda sausage poboy

Try the good eats forum for this topic.
  4. Past Time Lounge
  5. The next time I make the buffalo chicken dip, I'm going to put half of the sauce. It was too overpowering to put a whole cup. I couldn't taste anything but the sauce.
  6. kingfish on sherwood forest has good seafood poboys. i esp like the oysters!
  7. Georges makes the best shrimp po-boys in town. Roccos for Italian and Italian saugase po-boys. The Pastime for hot sausage and hot roast beef, but it's not as good as the late great The Library.
  8. Thanks for the tip. :thumb:
  9. Don't know about BR any more. Used to be Marchands in Gonzales though. Awww man...what I wouldn't give for a hot roast beef about now. Best they have here in Jax is Miami Subs...pretty good!

  10. Rocco's. The one that was right next to campus closed, but I believe the one on Drusilla is still open.
