My parents started taking me to Jack Sabin's as a birthday dinner when I was around 11. Their filet mignon was an absolute thing of beauty. I really enjoy Ruffino's and Louisiana Lagniappe. The Chimes was a sentimental favorite of mine from college. I still think their shrimp poboys are quite good. My daughters insist on hitting Sammy's every time we're in Louisiana; however, we always go to the one in Central because it's about 2 miles from my parents' house. Their sauteed shrimp dish is really good. I miss the original Sicily's pizza and Hopper's, too.
