I believe it is one play. Play a single down of football and the NCAA counts it as a year played. An exception is sometimes made in the case of an injury to a player who has had limited playing time in the early season. Hypothetically, if Vincent were to incur a season ending injury this week in practice or in next weeks game (God forbid, this is only an example to illustrate my point) LSU could apply to the NCAA to reinstate his redshirt status and the NCAA MIGHT grant it and might not. This rule not only applies to freshmen but to upperclassmen as well. I have heard of juniors and seniors who were injured early in the season having that year of eligibilty reinstated.

technically...if you play one play..then you lose the shirt, but...all you have to do is fabricate a "season ending injury"..and bam...the shirt is back on.

example: Jo Addai got a redshirt in 2001 and he played as late as the Kentucky game.

    Vincent looks awesome

It was great to see him get carries. Very strong and quick with great moves.

Edwards looked OK to me. Needs more time.

Broussard gets to carry a football 24/7 this week. I'm not too worried at this point. I remember that Devery Henderson was a butter fingered RB/return man a couple of years back and he wound up becoming a real player !!

I remember Josh Reed having a case of the fumbles his 1st year when he was still playing running back. As we all know that problem was solved. I don't see it being a permenant problem for Broussard.
