Gilmour and Waters... Thread over Frusciante and Flea were damn good together, also Brad Knowell RIP, and Eric Wilson, I gotta throw in Twiggy and John 5 too.
Dudes name is Tim Bob or Jim Bob...something hokey like that but great call. In that spectrum, it is the bass humping your face. My vote agrees with the OP, squier is the truth. I have seen yes 4 times and it is always on account of chris squire. Dude is SRV on the 4 string. AND he is a brit. I usually disqualify immediately on that point alone. Geddy Lee is right there on his heels though. Right there...
The downside to the concert is that the acoustics in Smoothie King Center suck. But the guys played their asses off. A year off from touring has really helped Geddy's voice. Its a retrospective concert; they dropped some songs they usually play at every show like Free Will and Red Sector A, and grabbed some deep cuts, notably Jacob's Ladder and Cygnus X-1. They opened with a few Clockwork Angels cuts, on a duplicate of the stage from the CA tour. From there they started going back in time, going to an older album with each selection. As they played, stage hands in red jumpsuits (Moving Pictures) gradually took down stage components and replaced them with stage props from previous tours. When they opened the second set, Geddy and Alex were each playing in front of a wall of amps, like a show from the 80's or late 70's. As the songs kept getting older, the stagehands took away amps (they were just props anyway), and the screen behind them had a proscenium stage look, as if they were playing in a small theatre rather than an arena. By the time they got to the last two songs - What You're Doing and Working Man from their first album, the screen had a picture of a high school gym, there was a mirror ball, a couple of light stands with strobes, and a couple of amps propped up on chairs with mics draped over them for "extra sound." Neil had switched to a replica of his 2112 double bass set, and Alex and Geddy's instruments looked like they had come from a pawn shop. Great concept, great show.
