He's lucky my dad didn't remove his head from his body when he (finally) found out about it.

It took a while to get over being in such an abusive marriage.

Also don't mention deaths, children or marriages.

Best day was when les miles was hired.

    By Michigan.

Worst day. When I found out he wasn't.

Seriously though, one of my best days was when I graduated LSU being the first person in my immediate family with a college degree. I was more happy for my parents actually but confused because college was easy.

Worst was when I spent Memorial Day weekend in prison lockup.

not mentioning anything about kids, marriage or deaths and all things related to those topics.......those are by far the best and worst......but leaving those out of it......

worst is probably the day we went 70 miles offshore in a 24ft single engine cobia(very common for us to be out there in that boat) when we knew we only had a narrow weather window before the cold front pushing down got to us. Had everything time out just right.....went to leave and found out the flood light had gotten bumped on at some point and were still on both batteries so of course they were dead. Tied to a rig 70 miles out in a 24ft boat with a front pushing in and seas building from calm to 8-10ft in a hurry. After several hours we were finally able to make contact and luckily happened to be a commercial boat that randomly had a charged 12volt battery on board and were going to be passing with a couple miles of us.....in about 5 hours. Finally made it to us and we got cranked up and got under way. By now though it was steady 8-10s with some much bigger mixed in and it was all we could do to make positive headway.....full throttle up the swells and back to idle coming down em to keep from punching the bow into the next one. Every swell put a drum full of water over the bow and I would not have been any more wet if I had jumped out of the boat. We needed to go due north to get back in but could not do it so had to jog left and right to stay as safe as we could which turned a 70 mile ride into about a 130 miles run....and then gas started to become an issue. Anyways.....after several ours of shear misery we made it back in close enough to the islands that it calmed down enough to at least feel safe again......we had been taking turns running the boat as it would wear you slam out in a hurry fighting it and at this point my buddy was running the boat. He doesnt see very well especially in low light which it was pretty much pitch black at this point and I kept telling him we were coming a few miles east of Dog Keys Pass(pass at the west end of Horn Island to get back into the sound) but he just kept on.....finally about 50 yards from beaching her he sees the sand and turns hard left adding a little more excitement to the whole ordeal. Made it in without injury but plenty sore and the boat really took a beating with broken welds all over the top, stress cracks everywhere, busted latches and no telling how many screws shook loose.

best day.....I will have to really think about this one.....but I think (again leaving the truly best out of it) is the day I bought my cabin and land to hunt on. This will only be my 2nd season to hunt there(had my year ever last year limited on bucks with 2 being the biggest 2 I have gotten and also dad got his biggest last year there as well) but the actual day of the purchase was probably the best bc it has already led to several family memories and I can only imagine of what is to come from it with my kids being only 3 and 1 and my brothers being only 4 as well as very good friends with very young kids I cannot wait for them to start getting in on everything with us. Yea I know this one ended up with kids tied to it but I couldnt leave them out completely.

I'm not trying to be a total dick but running a 24 ft single engine boat 70 miles offshore while trying to beat weather may be the single dumbest thing I've ever heard of someone doing. You're lucky to be alive.

I like your best day. I can't wait til my kids are a little older. My family has a lake house in texas where I hope to teach them to waterski and be lazy.

i was exaggerating....its actually only 68 miles. Nah it def wasnt the best decision for a 25 year old to make but at the time no kids no wife no "real" responsibilities so was much more reckless than now. that said I still go offshore in boats that size but only on the best forecasts(not that it cant change on a dime) and mostly just trout fish now anyways with the way they are destroying recreational offshore fishing but thats a whole other topic.

Yeah, at 25, I'm sure I didn't always make the best decisions. I took a single engine boat offshore 35 miles once in perfect weather and I was nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. Once you get past 30 miles or so, you don't see a whole lot of boats. But screw that offshore fishing. It beats the hell out of you even when the seas aren't bad.

thing about it over here in MS is to get to any decent offshore stuff we have to run 40+.....not talking about red snapper they are ridiculously overpopulated in anything over 50 ft deep but to get to the other snapper, triggerfish, grouper, mahi, AJs etc it is a good haul from here.....10 miles across the sound to clear the islands then another 30 at least from there to start getting to anything decent. And even then it is still not the "best"areas.....takes a solid 40 from the islands so 50 minimum from Ocean Springs. Getting off topic though sorry.......that day sucked for sure.....was more sore after that trip than the day after working out and running 3 miles for the first time in 6 months.

Yeah we were snapper fishing 30 miles off. I'm in Lake Charles and you have to go way off to get into anything. I'm not big into offshore fishing. Once a year is good enough for me although I went out of Port Aventuris this year and I can handle that. 1/2 mile off and your into 300 feet of water. Good stuff.

Best day so far and with the no marriage, kids, etc rule? That's got to be a tie. 1) The day I graduated from law school. Mostly because my dad, who died when I was very young and didn't have access to the resources I had, always wanted to be a lawyer. I kind of felt like it was a fulfillment of his dream as well as mine. 2) Getting a seven-figure jury verdict in a personal injury case. Yes, some of the reason it was such a good day was because of the money. As someone much wiser than me once said, "Only a fool does this job for the money. Only a fool would do this job without the money." But it was also about the fact that our client -- who was 12 years old when she got hurt and will bear the scars of her injuries in a very intimate place for the rest of her life -- was screwed over by the defendant. It was also about the fact that the defense attorneys -- all very experienced, working for a fairly large law firm -- grossly underestimated us. Finally it was also about the fact that one of the defense witnesses -- a Roman Catholic priest, no less -- lied under oath and we were able to catch him in the lie.

Worst day so far? In 2006 I had a very serious health issue when my (then) wife was 7 months pregnant. Ultimately I stayed in the hospital for a week and an inpatient rehab facility for another three weeks. The second day I was in the hospital I ended up having to have a transfusion and emergency surgery. Though I was weak and out of it for most of that day, I genuinely thought I was going to die before I saw my child. Right at four weeks after I got out of the rehab, I got to hold my son minutes after he was born. And he promptly peed on me.
