the goal of this thread it two-fold....one is for everyone to say what their favorite types and brands of chocolates are (and just to talk about chocolate....what better topic) and the second is for me to go out, seek and post the hyperlinks to all the best chocolate sites that i can find.....here's the first (i'll just keep adding them when i find them.....call me the "chocolate hunter").

Snorton - there is a factory here in Berkeley called Scharffenberger.

They make EXQUISITE chocolates. My favorite is a small bar called the "Nibby", with bits of cacao beans (the beginning of chocolate) and vanilla beans in the bar...kinda crunchy with the cacao almost like a toasted nut...

...because, ya see, I'm a texture kinda guy.....

It is somewhat bittersweet but it is the BEST chocolate that my wife & I have EVER had....and she is a CERTIFIED chocoholic.....:D :D :D :D

I noticed that Guittard is on the list....they are across the bay in Burlingame and they used to be a customer of mine...they make the chocolate for See's Candies, which is a HUGE West Coast candy concern... I send my mom See's to BR for her birthday, Easter, Christmas, etc...

I STILL love Gold Bricks and Heavenly Hash, though...

...I usta get 'em as a kid in my Easter basket...

..my care package from my lil bro with 'em in it is on its way to me as I type... :D:D
