Actually, all of the wedding guests didn't show up because, you may recall, on 9/7/74, Hurricane Carmen decided to blow right through New Orleans (where I was getting married) and Acadiana.

speaking of...what sausage do you like best.... Not the local store variety I can't get to. Just wondering what you guys like best of the brands you can find statewide.

It's ok. Not as good as Don's or Sunset. Kind of dry. Sausage is a lot better.

Savoies has a smoked jalapeno sausage that's damn good. Hard to find, though. Richards is good. All other store boughts pretty much suck, IMO

yes a good mainstream sausage is hard to find. savoies probably and richards like you say.

the beauty of it all is that all these places that make boudin usually make some good sausage too...

everyone seems to like savoies which i dont care for.

richards anything is good to me. The boudin isnt bad for a supermarket pinch. Not sure the kind they sell in most stores around in aluminum foil/crockpot everywhere but its decent.

I like Manda's sausage better than Savoies but if Manda makes boudin I have never seen it.
