Jerry Lee's makes a good link, however Don's in Carencro and Sunset Specialty have a ****load more flavor that Jerry Lee's. One thing I like about Jerry Lee's is that they put a lot of meat in their links, but the flavor doesn't compare with Sunset and Don's. Baton Rouge, in general, has some good food, but when compared to Acadiana and New Orleans, it's subpar. I've been to pretty much every well place in BR that's talked up and three places stand out: Po-Boy Lloyds, George's, and Fleur de Lis. Acadiana has the best boudin, but Jerry Lee's is as good as several places. My overall ranking is as follows: Sunset, Don's, Jerry Lee's, then the 100 others I've had.
yes i hear ya talkin.... thats why i said it's a subjective kind of thing. i have tried sunset and don's. i did a 12 stop tour/review a couple months ago on another site and went to both. i think jerry lees has a good flavor and is nice and spicy., thus the subjective thing... next trip to town you need to try roonnies smoked boudin, good ****... sadly you really know little about BR resturants if your best list consists of poor boy lloyds, fleur and georges. we will save that discussion for another time though. keep eatin the good link! oh whats your thoughts on crawfish or the seafood boudins... i have never had one i really cared for. if you live in acadiana you should swing by walter broussards store and have some of his chicken sausage. a hot piece off his little pit he has in the store... he is in some little town south of laf or so.. hell i forget the name, a little southwest of broussard or so.. anyway if ya know the place ck the chicken sausage.. the old man is a nice guy too.
If you have been wondering all these years why a lot of your wedding guests didn't show up its because they were all celebrating the future Bengal B's birthday.
Boudinlink.com You guys are a tough crowd. Check out the detailed reviews of each place at the site. That is where the distinction can be found. We'll head to Sunset this weekend. Wish we didn't have day jobs. Linksters
if theres a better BR pizza place than Fleur's let me know. that is by far the best place around. hell anywhere for my tastes. that place rocks.
in my opinion a "best pizza in BR"thread would bring several different spot into the light. i personally think fleur is the best but you would also hear the pastime alot. they have great pizza but i don't like the fact they use premade frozen crust... bet some of ya didn't know that..hard to tell isn't it.. you would also hear about de'angelos, la. pizza kitchen, rotollo's and diguilo's (spelling might be wrong on that one) and i am sure there are 1 or 2 mopre places i haven't mentioned.
Actually, all of the wedding guests didn't show up is because, you may recall, on 9/7/74, Hurricane Carmen decided to blow right through New Orleans (where I was getting married) and Acadiana.
