and giants stadium has the jets and the giants, and metrostars (and now this extra game with the saints) and it seems ok.

seems like if they hired enough people to help turn the stadium around in between saturday night and sunday they could do it. it would give some of the displaced people something to do.

edit: nevermind i am wrong about giants stadium, they take the grass out after the metrostars season and play on "fieldturf".

Is it even possible to take the grass out of Tiger Stadium and replace it with Field Turf for a Saints game? I'm wondering.

i think replacing turf is the kind of thing you do once a season. and you can only go from grass to turf not vice-versa because grass takes a while to settle and hold together.

i think the metrostars/jets/giants play on the grass until it is destroyed and the soccer season is over, then play on turf through the winter and re-sod grass on top of the turf in spring.

obviously high schools play on fields over and over and it works ok.

I say schedule a Saints versus LSU game and televise on pay-per-view. Wouldn't that be grand? Think D. Henderson would switch sides?

I understand where you are coming from, but you would have to be here to understand just how bad traffic and everything else in Baton Rouge is with our population doubling last week. Gasoline is scarce, grocery lines are long. People already have guests sleeping on couches and can't take in Saints fans. Putting on a football game for LSU is going to be difficult enough without worrying about the Saints.

There are plenty of other stadiums that are off-campuses and available. New Orleans ticket holders aren't going to be attending Saints games for a while anyway and they are scattered from Texas to Georgia.

I don't know if it would work long term, and I wouldn't want to hurt the Tiguhs. But being a Louisiana native and Saints fan, I would love to see them play in BTR even if just for a game or two.

If nothing else, it would be cool if the New Orleans/Miami game were played there. That's the main one I wanted to go to this year.

I say build a new stadium south of baton rouge and rename the new orleans saints to the Louisiana Voodoo (alot of people wanted that to be the Saints new name when it was voted in for the AFL) and let it be a STATE team instead of a New Orleans team that North Louisiana envies...

    (Not a real suggestion)

Gotcha. And you're right, high schools do play on fields over and over again, but I think those fields get pretty torn up after a few weeks. It works at Tad Gormley because its AstroTurf.

I think it would be nice to see the Saints play in Tiger Stadium at least for one game, maybe not necessarily for every home game. But here's a thought, though I'm not sure how viable it is. Perhaps playing in different locations in the region would give the Saints some good P.R. (like in Northern Louisiana, for instance). Obviously the team would have to play well and I'm sure there are a lot of logistical issues that would have to taken care of, but it's a thought.
