Jim Rome....a bit off topic but do you remember when Jim Everett, QB for the Rams, thrashed him during one of his shows about 15-20 years ago? If I remember correctly, it was because Rome was calling him Chris Everett...... I hope you are right about the "stress" cards. I went through the AF boot camp and if you can't handle it, you really need to stay home....about as user friendly as it gets, and that was 22 years ago.
Forest for the trees, and I'm not talking about a Gump. I have tried to point out a few things. First of all, the specific events that happened in Benghazi on 9/11 was what the ARB "investigated". It was merely a process review. In that vein, they identified a series of State Department senior management level eff ups. Among other things, it's clear that facts were obscured and falsified. The reasons? As you said, and I have been pointing out, to cover up what we were doing there and to protect people in DC from responsibility. Hillary was the person at the top of the food chain. If she was any kind of leader, she would have been front and center from day 1, participating in the ARB review and running to testify in front of Congress. All we got from her, was a dismissive question about whether it all mattered at this point. But she's got Presidential aspirations. So, you can call it a scandal or a terrorist tear party, I don't care but we know what happened. The bigger picture as I have been saying is what was going on there prior to 9/11. THAT is what we don't know and what is still being covered up. It's being done in my name, your name, and every American's name. Yes, it was a CIA operation. Dig deeper because IMO, it matters. IMO, Brennan was running his own show, providing guns, etc to one terrorist group that has killed Americans to fight another terrorist group that has killed Americans. It doesn't matter that CNN quoted anonymous sources....this information was meant to get out. I'm not talking about basic interrogations or inherent CIA work. I'm saying it has gotten much bigger than what we know. Why are people being given lie detector test at such a rate? It's meant to intimidate or threaten potential whistleblowers. Didn't Obama say he would never do that? Look in to what MKULTRA is and get back to me. Tillman? He joined because he opposed the war and had become angry with the handling of it. That makes him a patriot in my eyes. What transpired after his death was a joke. His family and America was lied to. It took one month to reveal that the official report was a complete fake. His SS commendation actually says, "Above the din of battle, Cpl. Tillman was heard issuing fire commands to take the fight to an enemy on the dominating high ground. Always leading from the front, Cpl. Tillman aggressively maneuvered his team against the enemy position on a steep slope. As a result of Cpl. Tillman's effort and heroic action, the trail element of the platoon was able to maneuver through the ambush position of relative safety without suffering a single casualty". And it was all bullshyte. I find nothing to indicate that Bush ever met with the family. They have continued to aggressively criticize not only the handling of his death, but the reasons for it. FF is a sad truth of war but I believe the bigger reason was to manipulate the PR disaster of the war. I also find nothing to indicate that Obama met with Stevens' family. A phone call to apologize but nothing more. If you have a link, I'd love to read it. I keep saying it, the truth is a lie. Refer to the Chris Kyle killing.
Yep, that was on one of his first TV shows, and while Jim (Everett) never really "hit" him, he went after him, think he knocked the table over and Rome fell into the pit and had the scaredest look on his face, like "WTF did I get myself into cause this dude is about to beat me down".
In the early 90's, there were just 100 or so DEVGRU Gold Team members. It doesn't get much more specialized/trained than that. And for you Tiger in NC, you said that ST6/DEVGRU was a well known entity before Obama got in to office. Go back and look at the stories covering the hijacking and eventual rescue of the captain from the Maersk Alabama in 2009. They all reference "SEAL snipers" but never do they say ST6....it wasn't until Bin Laden that they were so publicly identified. I think it was a horrible mistake.
I love ya babe but it really is sort of like fight club. It was always there just no one would talk about it. There are lots of things, even at the very lowest levels of military (like what I was in, just plain ol active duty) that are "not supposed to exist" the only difference now is that instead of claiming it doesn't exist they readily admit it. It probably doesn't help that some of them appear to be more aligned with the dollar than the code. Otherwise they would not be writting books, producing documentaries and what not. Bottom line, I don't agree much with TINC's politics, in fact I don't agree with them at all, but this ST6 business is much ado about nothing.
I don't disagree. My point is that they were not well known in America. They are now. And I agree, too many are now going after money, departing from a reliance on honor. Two thoughts....Did Chris Kyle make a wise choice in writing his book? And, I don't necessarily believe that all of those on TV, etc are legit but that's just me. Is it much ado? Perhaps. I can say that I know one former Sixer who doesn't share your opinion.
I would venture to say most are legit. Their motivations may vary, but all are very passionate. Anonymity is supposed to be ingrained in the culture, and it is for the most part, but some are compelled to set the record straight or speak their mind when service has ended. Part of the problem is it's all glamorized now. What was once viewed with reverence in our national command authority is now used for political gain. Absolute shame, for both military and other agencies.
