didnt have time to cook last night so brought a little fry daddy today and cooked me some frogs, white perch, and shell cracker in class before lunch.......it is SAD what the kids now are becoming. These kids live right here where I do and most of this stuff I do right here. They have no clue what is living right here with us and how to utilize any of it. Some of the boys thought me eating the frog legs were the coolest thing ever and of course some of the girls just said gross......but none of them had any idea that this was something you can even do. Guess its to much time on the facespace and Xstations. I know thats just how things are going but man it saddens me to see. Anyways....made a fine lunch....

I bet you had the whole school stopping by your classroom. Love the smell of seafood frying.

We used to fry the legs and make a sauce piquante with the backs.

Same here. Nothing I like more than a home-grown chicken that I cut the head off of and clean then cook fresh. Kids today just pick one up at the local meat market and that tradition is dying out, a lot. No more boucherie's. Me and a friend did one about 20 years ago where we killed the hog, shaved it, scalded and make cracklins, etc. Last one I've heard of around here.
