Welcome to the club.... :thumb: Doesn’t it feel good to be a Tiger and a contributor. This is a great site. The only one I come too. Heather :geauxtige
honestly scrappy, i havent heard anyone say anything about a virginia coaching situation... a. I was not aware of a coaching debacle b. no one cares about this god forsaken place but some of the people who live here. you have to understand, 2/3's of the people who live here are military. hah... with the "welcome aboard" thing... ive heard that going into every command... what a load of...garbage...
baton rouge is a funny place... hated it when i was there and wanted to get away, now i miss it more and more because i had no idea of what i had at my fingertips... the best food in the world, the best sports, and some of the best weather (you guys would swear i was crazy for saying this but i promise, ill take rainy and humid over 25 degrees and wet all the time... whats funny is walking to the ship in the mornings down the pier in my LSU hoodie, and the looks and laughs... as if to say: "whats this cajun doing this far up here?" whats even funnier is that people here consider themselves THE SOUTH... I disagree.:hihi:
Well, I've learned that when you live somewhere, the only people that care about it are those that live there. Or those who have lived there at some point. Its like it is with sports fans. There are LSU fans scattered all over b/c someone may have lived here or whatever. Same can be said for fans of any college or pro sports team. But, like it is here for me, I'm the only one who has any knowledge or care about Mizzou. Just like if you went to missouri and looked for people interested in LSU, or Auburn or anything like that. They'd be few and far between. I've lived in so many places and had to face this. I lived in montana and was a Chiefs fan. My favorite is when you live somewhere that everyone roots for one team and you dont. They ask "how can you be a fan of them". I think thats funny. But we all do it. But, I dont know about you guys, but there is nothing better than being a fan of someone when your in enemy territory. It's a pretty sweet feeling. I went the the Saints/chiefs game this year and was one of the few chiefs fans. Then, whats even better is when your in a state or city that is not the home of your home team, and you find someone who is also a fan of your team. It's almost like your automatically friends.
TP writer named Jeff Gould was a Mizzou grad...Look him up...I think that was his name...He covered the LSU beat for awhile...
First, welcome. Secondly, I think what he's getting at is some discussion of UVA wanting a new coach. Here in Houston, Rick Barnes name keeps coming up, which is just assinine, b/c he's got a good thing going at Texas. Plus, you've gotta be outta your mind to sign up to be Duke/UNC's annual b**ches. Kinda like Tommy Bowden going to Clemson, just so Daddy could beat him down every year.
