It should go to a Gator, but I suspect it will go to a Trojan or a Buckeye.

Couldn't find Perry Riley but here's Perry Como and Bill O'Riley, close enough right ?

then you not looking hard enough.

4th on the team in tackles, 1st among the linebackers with six tackles for a loss and also had an INT.

Granted, those aren't Butkus numbers. But don't go around saying the kid had a terrible season.

Well since no one else has...I will say it.

Congrats to Perry and Darry. While the defense as a whole left something to desired this year, it is still good to see recognition for the program (times two) in this national award.

If anything, this should be a great recruiting tool to show that even on down years our players still get nationally recognized.

Yuip I suspect it'll be either Maualuga or Laurinaitis who wins it.

C'mon, SF. I'm as homerish as the next guy, but you can't seriously say that LSU has two of the top dozen LBs in the country. Can you?

No, but he sure as heck will shut the hell up about it.

    Same thing. Mostly.

Just be happy he agreed that the DCs need to go. That took an intense few weeks of therapy.

Tiger fans realized how much they would miss a leader in Ali Highsmith, as the linebackers were almost non-existent through the early part of the season. Darry Beckwith struggled to play through injury, but just couldn’t physically live up to his former self. Linebackers Perry Riley and Kelvin Sheppard were decent at times, and finished second and fourth respectively in total tackles on the season. Jacob Cutrera filled in well... GRADE: C+
