He was probably the most interesting guy at the hip Dallas cocaine parties in the 70's. I always thought he was a likable guy. But virtually everyone, even supporters, say he was an amazingly inarticulate public speaker and a self-described "C-student".

You could splice together video of the smartest person you know (apparently you think that's you ) and make them sound practically retarded. I'm going on and on about this because the words moron and criminal have meaning and, IMO, you're exaggerating in the extreme. Bush is not a member of MENSA. But he certainly is not a moron. And Palin is, in fact, pretty sharp. She's just not national politician sharp. She'd kick your butt 5 ways to Sunday in a debate about the issues. In fact, both of them would. With zero prep. Of course, you get to hide behind your bluster and your hyperbole because you'll never be asked to follow through.
You're crazy. Palin did more to help McCain than any VP pick in the history of VP picks. Just about everyone was saying they were staying home on election night due to McCain...with Palin, only half of them stayed home. Seriously though, there is no way you can make the argument that Palin hurt McCains chances.
