I just watched a video on MSNBC showing the crowd that has gathered at the New Orleans Arena, and they are so angry it is not funny. they are yelling blaming the mayor and the state for not taking care of them right now. My question is, why did you not heed the warning from the mayor and leave before the storm? I do not buy the no transportion bullsh!t, everyone knows somebody with a car or way to a bus station. Now, for my stress. My sister is a nurse and is on duty at East Jefferson. They were told earlier in the week they would not be able to leave until 9/9/2005. Apparently they have now been made aware that there is only 2 entrances in and out of the hospital, and they are not going to be allowed to leave until hospital officials deem it to be safe. The hospital is now being surrounded by over 200 military personnal armed to the hilt. I am at a loss for the lack of civility being shown by some of the filth in New Orleans. I will be very disappointed in the Mayor, Blanco, and Bush if there is not a no tolerence shoot to kill mandate for those trying to obstruct rescue attempts....we do not need these people living among us. on a side note, news in Dallas just reported 20,000-25,000 refuges from New Orleans will be calling Dallas home on Saturday. That is a lot of people. I am really starting to doubt if New Orleans will have half the population it did before Katrina. I think most people are now leaving for good.
Well from what I can tell a lot of them seem to have decided that Baton Rouge is their new home. It took me 25 minutes to get from my apartment to work yesterday....and work is less than a 1/4 of a mile away for me. It's pretty insane by about 10am every morning now and it lasts all day. Needless to say, I'm not too excited about it. But at the same time, my traffic complaints are completely insignifigant compared to the problems of others. :laflagwav
Delta changed my flight for this weekend from Atlanta to Nola to a baton rouge flight for no charge. I just hope I can make it to Houma.
There was reports in LaRose of fights breaking out at a generator-run gas station. :dis: over who was next in line.
Continental told me to reschedule the trip if I can. I am going to reschedule for a later date.... Good luck and If the LSU ASU game is here in Tempe please feel free to reach out for me. We will put on a good party and feed as many as possible and the booze is free. :geauxtige
