If we play Florida again, we will definitely win....I would love to play Florida again (assuming we make it there). If we do run the table and beat UF in the SECCG, we could then say that we beat EVERY team on our schedule...

But we have a long way to go and I hope the team isn't thinking like we are!!!

Don't forget to root for Michigan; they have the best shot of beating Ohio State (and i think they will).

    1) TRUE DAT!
    2) I hope we have a chance to play florida again. since Florida beat LSU, they really become a better football team, however; LSU has also become a better football team after that dark, dark day for LSU football, and could easily take Florida again.

P.S. Purple Jungle, you are the reason forums work. There are people who start threads without knowing their football, i can tell that you really studied some college football before posting.

    Thank You

The original thread was about how to get LSU higher in the BCS. AS you will see when the new BCS standings come out Tennessee will be the highest ranked SEC team in the BCS,besides LSU. Florida will be the lowest ranked of the three and Georgia will be second. If we want to get to NC game we should want to play highest ranked team inSECCG, Tennessee.....

Playing Georgia again can't help us.

BTW, other teams to root for:

Arizona, UL-Monroe, La Tech, and Western Illinois. Also any SEC team when playing Out of conference. We need all of these teams to win to improve our SOS as much as possible. In the case of Western Illinois, it's more to make sure they don't hurt us too badly.

Purple, an excellent post, but I'm afraid I'll have to take issue with the Washington description.

I say we root for those damn Huskies, who have games remaining versus Cal (road) and Washington State (at home).

Why? Well, every loss heaped on top of Cal's head makes USC's loss to the Golden Bears look sillier and sillier, a nice contrast when compared to LSU's only loss to a Florida team that looks better and better each week. This may prove useful in trying to slide past USC in the AP and coaches polls.

Secondly, the grossly overrated Washington State Cougars are in line to win out and finish 10-2.

Big deal, you say? Actually, it is: regardless of who we face in the SEC Championship game, an LSU victory prevents Georgia/Florida/Tennessee from finishing in the final BCS top 10 poll, thus eliminating any quality win point deductions.

A 10-2 Washington State sneaks into that final top 10 and---you guessed it---gives USC quality win point(s).

In short, there's a legitimate chance that LSU can win out and beat 5 ranked (in the polls) at the time they played these teams and 2 BCS top 10 teams at the time they played those teams over the course of it's 13-game season, finish #2 in the final AP and ESPN/USA Today coaches poll....and STILL finish a smidge behind USC because of a GDamn Washington State team sitting at 9 in the final BCS poll and giving USC -.1 (or more) quality win point(s).

Personally, I'm just going to watch a bunch of pissant games the next 3-4 weeks, pinning my final hopes (if it comes down to this) on both Michigan and Oregon State to give us the legitimate shot at Oklahoma a 12-1 LSU team would so richly deserve.

Wow, does December 6 look huge from here or what? USC plays Oregon State on the 6th, kickoff at 3:30 pm central...some 3 1/2 hours prior to kickoff of the SEC championship game.

Of course, if Ohio State is still a 1-loss team by December 6, LSU's Sugar hopes are dashed regardless.
