I like 8, but I think you would have to eliminate the 12th game to implement.

Not if you take away some of the rent a win teams off the schedule?
I think they should do away with at least one of those games and that
would free up a week to be used for a playoff.
We don't need that extra game they threw in there a few years back.
Most fans don't go to those games anway, I believe LSU averages 2 games
a year with rent a win teams.

I think the only way the university presidents would consider an 8 team playoff and by result, the extension to the season, is to eliminate the 12th regular season game just added.

That's why I think you try to take it one step at a time. Implement the +1 and take it from there.

Just a random off topic thought.
Why do they call it a rent a win? You don't have to return it after the season, and don't get charged any late fees. Shouldn't it be called a buy a win?

It's all coming back to me now . BAMA couldn't play that night because of the SECCG. I watched Hawaii games back to back hoping for them to lose to hurt USC's SOS.

Did LSU deserve to go to the NC in 2003, of course, they went 11-1, with an SEC champ, and one ugly home loss to a freshman QB, and did not score an offensive touchdown....but nevertheless LSU deserved to go and this place and me would still be trashing the BCS for not allowing LSU to show it was the best team in 2003.

So that leads me to say that Florida deserves to go to the NC game this year and if it is shafted like AU in 2004, then that is bad for the SEC and accordingly LSU, because LSU has not gone undefeated recently nor have many other SEC teams just AU in 2004 and Tenn in what 97or98....so when an SEC team is deserving they should go to the NC no questions asked...but this trend of shafting the SEC needs to stop because what happens if LSU goes 11 or 12-1 next year which is a string possibility then they should be deserving of a trip to the NC.....but all you people pulling against Florida would then be flip flopping to pull for LSU next year, and to me yall would be just as ridiculous as the talking heads on ESPN.....so in my opinion the best thing for LSU is for Florida to go to the NC even if that means no Roses for LSU.
