Not to split hairs, but wouldn't you need three games to solve this? Team 1 plays team 4, and team 3 plays team 2. That's two games. Then you need the winner of those two games to play a final game to decide it, right? So you have almost doubled the amount of games played in the 4 major bowl games, exactly what the major bowls seem not to want.
Instead of extending the season, why not move the playoff into the bowl season? If LSU didn't make the bowl its fans would watch the bowl game and general college football fans would still want their last fix of football.
the BCS has been corrupted since it's inception. it's flaws are exposed and visible to all to see. it's past time for the fans to cut bait on this method to select our Champions..
I keep hoping that every team sport, at every level, would go to a BCS-type system. It's just so much better than a playoff...
To me, that point was polarized the most the year an SEC team went undefeated and didn't get to play in the NCG. Aside for how people feel about AU, to see a team (any team) go undefeated in OUR conference and not play in the Championship game was dissapointing.
Decided to repeat for the person that gave me red for this post... PS I STILL meant what I wrote. Be a man and put your name on that red next time.
That's the whole PROBLEM! Games that have nothing to do with ANYTHING shouldn't be determining national championship match-ups and whatnot. I don't want Rutgers-WVA determing where LSU goes bowling. That's crap. Besides, match-ups should not be coerced by lobbying and voters' personal preferences. How is that a good system?
