Wait a minute, HE butchered the interview, yet the guy who got the job has had gems that went something like:

    "We learned stuff."
"We'll take on any sucker in the country."
"I like to take a group of men on the road for an afternoon or evening."

Of course this list could go on and on, with him sounding like a deranged summer trip chaperone, but I don't want this to be an anti-CLM thread either.

I just can't imagine what Petrino must have said that sounded worse.

This is why I love TF. Let's see if I can connect the Tirk Dots. Stay with me, this is complex:

You mentioned Meyer's offense getting the QB killed, which brings up Alex Smith, who infamously has small hands. Another guy that has the proverbial small hands is my boy Ricky, who Ditka went out of his way to draft. Ronnie Lott ended up with small hands after having his finger amputated. Ditka also drafted the above-noted Wuerffel, who had a small arm. So this means the Saints pull a Texans and draft Leak in the 3rd round (see: Texans inexplicably drafting Ragone, from Louisville.)

This seems like some complex, bizarro Six Degrees of Separation. Brilliant stuff.

"Would we be better off with either?" I think is a valid question.

I'm curious if the way Petrino butchered the interview isn't a response to the question, "Are you going to fly with me to Dallas to try to get a game with the Cotton Bowl?"

Prove me wrong, Miles. Look good against Tennessee and get the win.

Supposedly BP butchered the inverview because of his conceit and arrogance. Skip isn't known for being a man of humility, so perhaps he felt threatened or just clashed because he didn't feel like the biggest cock swinging in the room. Anyway, Petrino has acted like a weasel time and time again, I'd rather RRod be the coach - although so far Miles is doing a good job.

The way Petrino has acted or the way his personality has come off is not so good. I don't think I'd want him here, either, and in this regard Miles seems to very much be his superior. I don't think I'd want Spurrier either, who earlier this season embarassed one of his position coaches in front of the media.

One thing I do like about Pet is his competitiveness but you are right about Miles- the guy is a classy man and seems to be a very sincere person.

I don't like the way Petrino has (at least twice) tried to secretly meet to apply for a job...Spurrier is not in that class. The OBC is, really, classy...he ran up the score and most don't like that...and he speaks freely and some don't like that...but he runs a clean program and his kids graduate and is honest with everyone. I'd love to have him for his coaching and his personality.

Earlier this season the media was asking why the defense (or offense, though since Spurrier is an offensive guy, I think it was defense) didn't do this or that. Spurrier said "I don't know, let's ask the position coach." He then got the position coach out in front of the media and grilled him on what went wrong. That's wrong (bush).

Had the internet been around in the 60s, I know folks who would have posted like this all the time (hallucinogens). :hihi:
