    Espn says LSU wins game one 5-4. For those of us stuck at work someone please say its so!!!!!!!!

    well that was quick

    Gausman mowed 'em down 1 2 3

    LSU took plate, Moore singled, Nola advanced him to 2nd on a sac bunt, Jones was intentionally walked to set up DP, and then Katz ripped the first pitch he got for the game-winning RBI

    Tigers take game 1. LSU LSU LSU chants fill the Box. Game 2 starts in 30 min

    he only burned like 12 pitches. if he gets the W in Game 2, I imagine he will be the first starting pitcher in LSU history to get two W's in one day, maybe first pitcher period

    I had thought about that earlier this morning: if I were coach, who would I send out in the 12th? Thought about Gausman briefly, but rejected it, because we don't know how his arm's going to react to going live, then resting for an hour, then going out again. But I'm not paid to be a college baseball coach, so I'll assume PM knows what he's doing. And as Tiger_fan pointed out, it was only 12 pitches.

    FWIW, I would have sent out Goody, with a 2 inning limit.

    actually we've laid down a lot of masterful bunts this season (even plenty of suicide squeezes, safety squeezes...and Hanover became the all time career bunt leader at LSU, in addition to top 10 all time in hits)

    but....we have hit into more than our fair share of DPs, including some devastating ones yesterday, and I neglected to mention they intentionally walked Jones to set up the DP with Katz up...but Big Katz came through again
