@tirk fetch us a live feed for the protests. There's got to be a traffic cam or something for us to watch the tribe.

I am sure the cops didn't intend to kill that man.

At least, intent is sound reasoning.

And when chaos ensues, leadership should provide the example but this is what you get from Congessman Cedric Richmond....

"The video footage released today of the shooting of Alton Sterling by officers of the Baton Rouge Police Department was deeply troubling and has understandably evoked strong emotion and anger in our community,” said Rep. Richmond. “I share in this anger and join the community in the pursuit of justice. My prayers and thoughts are with Mr. Sterling’s family as they deal with this tragedy.”

There are a number of unanswered questions surrounding Mr. Sterling’s death. Including questions about the initial calls for police presence, the level of force used by officers, the verbal and physical altercation, and the response of the officers after he was shot. I call on the U.S. Department of Justice to conduct a full and transparent investigation into this incident. The cause of justice requires state and local law enforcement to join in this request as soon as possible."

So with no other facts other than the video, he's basically proclaimed the officers guilty despite saying he wants a transparent investigation. What he's really saying, is that he believes the officer's to be guilty, is assuming a cover-up, and won't be happy if the findings don't go his way. And why are his prayers and thoughts only with Sterling and his family. Do the officers in this situation not deserve some prayers for what they are going through? Hell, the entire country now knows their names and I suspect they and their families will now be the recipients of a ton of hate.

    Thanks, I edited it.

That's what I was referring to when I said, "ALREADY." Same MO. If they were was smart as they think, they would've learned from Ferguson, and Freddie Gray.

Bandwagoning at its finest by representative Richmond. That's his constituency correct?

It's like you said....the job of a cop is becoming near impossible these days and I bet the majority of us would have done what they did. It's just too early and too inflammatory for government entities to go this route. It's completely unhelpful to the entire citizenry.

Yes, this dude is dead. At the same time, these officer's and their family's lives have been permanently altered as well. What makes them unworthy of prayers, if one is of the mind to offer them?

sounds like they tazed him twice which was ineffective. they were called out to someone reportedly waving a gun. ok good on them for not coming at him locked and loaded initially. non lethal force attempt. fail.

2nd attempt -- they try to cuff the guy. really vulnerable position for the cops, dude is facing up which allows him to see them and his hands are all over the place. Often it takes 5 or 6 cops to pull that final hand closer to get the last cuff on because its non natural. and thats when they are face down. they had little chance here.
then they see the gun (in his pocket) and go in survivor freak out mode. its him or me. then he keeps resisting. then it looks like hes reaching. then you have to decide. game over.

Not sure why they shot him 5 times point blank however.
