the reason they gave tuby coach of the year was because this was supposed to be a "rebuilding year" for the wildcats and the team's success has been based on giving considerable minutes to quite a few freshman. IMO, there's no other coach that is worthy based on the pre season expectations.

No it doesn't. Did you read the article in the Advocate today about the subject. He's currently rated about 6th at his position just among the college kids(wait 'til the HS & European class are added to the mix). Since he tested his draft status at the NBA camps last year, he can not attend them this spring. If he doesn't get a very strong feel from a particular club, I'm guessing he will come back. We'll have to wait this one out for a couple more months.

From LSUsports:

On the first team with Bass were Lawrence Roberts of Mississippi State, Anthony Roberson of Florida, Kennedy Winston of Alabama and Chuck Hayes of Kentucky. Bass and Roberts were unanimous selections.

LSU freshman Glen Davis was named the Newcomer of the Year by the voting media of AP. Davis, named earlier in the day to two freshman All-America teams, is averaging 13.1 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocks per game going into the tournament.

Davis is on the second team All-SEC quintet along with Ronnie Brewer, Arkansas; Kelenna Azubuike, Kentucky; David Lee, Florida; and, Earnest Shelton, Alabama. On the third team were Chuck Davis, Jermareo Davidson and Ronald Steele of Alabama, Carlos Powell of South Carolina, Patrick Sparks of Kentucky and Toney Douglas of Auburn.

If Kentucky is in a rebuilding year I have to ask Why? I don't remember any players leaving early last year. Why should a team like Kentucky ever have a rebuilding year if the coach is doing the best job in the conference?
