I believe Robinson grew 6” while in the Academy. There’s a height limit and by the time he graduated he exceeded it.
I have to completely disagree on that last statement. The rules apply yo every school. You can't have one set of rules for the service academies then another set of rules for everyone else. Why limit it to the service academies? Or, why not have one set of rules for Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, and Michigan then have a set of recruiting rules for everyone else?
It already exists. You ever take a look at say the OL for any of them? They are always going to be on the smaller side because they have to stay within the height and weight standards set by the branch they are in. That is a disadvantage. While the SA's will generally get or maybe get a "higher quality" guy they are going to miss on just about every 5 star out there for one reason or another, drug testing is a big one. So while maybe not letting them work completely outside the rules I think if ever the NCAA was going to look the other way it should be in these instances, none of them are going to bring in a world beater of a class anytime soon, I'd rather they focus more on the red menace instead.
