lsu wont let radio stations that broadcast the game stream it. they want to make people purchase the geaux zone.
Too many batters trying to do nothing but swing for the fences tonight. Mental errors were also a problem. I know it was a big hole to be in during the 9th, but Hanover destroyed a possible rally with that pickoff at 2nd. Pitching tonight was serviceable, even though Arky caught onto Ross a bit early. I hope they get their heads in the game and do better tomorrow and Sunday. :tigbas:
maybe it's just me but i think we have way too many guys trying to steal bases when they shouldn't. mahtook for one. dude has been thrown out like what, three times so far this season? not only are we leaving base-runners, but it kills rallies. last season we were fortunate with two-out-RBIs, this season, not so much. there is more to baseball than just having good players, you need luck and good baseball fortune too. LSU ain't gettin' none of that so far this season -- perhaps it will catch up to us later in the season. but it's the little things as well. this team's fielding is a step back from last season. gibbs gunned down just about EVERY runner last season (and the season before) this season it seems like at least 5-6 guys stole on him and his throw to second was off. but really, all of that is to be expected, the team last season was probably the best LSU baseball team ever from top-to-bottom. i'm interested to see what CPM has in the bag. expectations, expectations....
Gibbs doesnt have a chance to throw anybody out when Ross is pitching, none. His delivery is way to slow to the plate to give Gibbs a chance. The only reason Gibbs throw that 1 guy out last night is it was sort of a bad throw, to the right of the bag and in front of the bag and kinda got lucky. Ross actually looked good last night except for the 1 inning when he gave up the 2 HRs. He gave up 4 runs in 6 innings with 7 or 8 Ks. He gave up a some hits but usually pitched out of it, except for that 1 inning. The Ark pitching just shut down our bats, only gave up about 6 hits. Hopefully we'll better luck today and Sunday. :geaux:
yeah, that's a good point, but a few other times this season his throws have been off. hanover's a small guy so maybe his reach isn't as great as schimpf's was. but 5'6" is still a pretty wide target.
what's up with arkansas announcers on CST!? i want ben mcdonald, lynn rollins and ronnie rantz, not these clowns!!! edit - not that it really matters, nice weather at the box today. edit edit - weather is no longer nice.
