Re: LSU99, Much of what you say is correct.... Gatorade hit the market when I was in HS. Our coach recognized it's value and encouraged us to buy it. School couldn't afford it. There was a supermarket owner who supported the football team and sold it to us at cost. $4 a case. In glass bottles. TRA......I am old. Show some respect.
Good example. I was raised on Football and Fencing, but not Baseball. As such, I'm an adult male who is still trying to learn what different Baseball pitches look like and how to grip the ball for each pitch. The other point about a group of kids needing a bunch of equipment to play a neighborhood game of Baseball is true, too. When I was a kid, three kids and one football was all we needed to play a game -- one kid was the Permanent Quarterback for each of the other two. You can't do that with Baseball. With a Basketball, two kids can play a game one on one. That's why black kids play Football and Basketball, but not Baseball . . . it's easier to get a game up of Football and Basketball in the neighborhood.
Not so fast my friend. We'd play with 3 players. We'd get a friend's sister to pitch for both sides and one guy would play right field for both sides. After a few innings, we would switch positions so everyone got to bat eventually (except for the girl :hihi: ) We'd play only to 1st base. Any ball left of second base was out. We'd play that way for a while, then more guys would show up and eventually we would expand the field.
We used to play home run derby all the time as kids. One pitcher, one hitter, and an outfielder. Ten hits then you rotate.
