The winner of the game between the 1-1 teams DOES go to the final. However, they have to beat the undefeated team (UCLA in this case) twice. That's the price you pay for losing a game in a double elimination. If this were a single elimination tournament, UCLA would already be the champ. No reason to punish them by making it so that LSU/UCI only have to beat them once.

Ok, that's what it is then the game at 8 is a part of the finals it's just played today instead of tomorrow. I should've known that. For some reason I was thinking that the game tonight was before the finals and just played because the NCAA is full of idiots.

LOS ANGELES - Junior right-hander Ben Alsup (5-0, 3.00) will be the starting pitcher for LSU when it faces UC Irvine in an elimination game Sunday at 4 p.m. in the NCAA Los Angeles regional.

Right-hander Evan Brock (5-4, 3.00) will start for the Anteaters. Both pitchers saw action in Friday's game between the two, won by LSU, 11-10, in 11 innings.

Watkins misses a 2-run HR by inches. He may have had it but the UCLA high school stadium makes it difficult to tell.

This park should NOT qualify for a regional. :dis:
