for the most part it is. i dunno what services you are getting from the government besides defense and cops and such that you think you cant purchase yourself more efficiently.
The liberals want the poor to see themselves as an exploited proletariat so they can more easily lure them to the polls to keep the gravy train on the tracks. Conservatives want them to learn to fend for themselves so they can be proud, contributing members of society. Nothing wrong with that, at all.
the swedens and finlands of the world can be run a bit differently because they have wildly different cultures. basically they have no *******. finland, for example, is insanely restrictive of outsiders. its easy to run a country when every person there is responsible and white.
I think all of the Scandinavian countries have fairly high suicide rates that are primarily attributed to the long winters with minimal sunlight. Can you imagine going 4-6 months only having a few hours of sunlight per day? The socialist model works well for Norway and some of the others but isn't a fair comparison to the US. What's the deal with the "Barry" nickname? I see it a lot and seems to be some sort of putdown but not sure how it originated. Assuming it's not an actual nickname? Is it just a (slightly) more civilized way of showing which side you're on, rather than referring to him as Odummy, Hussein, etc.?
Obama says just don't call him late for dinner. It's my way of showing disrespect not unlike that which was shown to Bush.
