It's all as to whether or not the head official sees it and whether he thinks it warrants the unsportsmanlike. Personally, it should be flagged each and every time and monetary penalties assessed to the head coach for failing to maintain control of his players. Trust me, you go reaching into the pockets of the head coach and that will only happen one time.
Let me clear this issue up. Bama's players gather in a big group near midfield before every game and jump up and down to get themsleves pumped up before the game. That's all they were doing. They weren't purposely stomping the mid-field logo like AU vs. LSU two years ago. That's why there was no penalty!
Then the coaches need to move that activity to the 35 or 40 yard line. No reason to allow that to happen. This year's LSU v AU, the AU coaches prevented their team from getting to midfield and kept them between the 35 and 45. That's the difference, and its significant.
We all agree with that 100%! In fact, I think they did it at the 40 against Miss. St. and Ole Miss, but they do it at the 50 at home. I just don't think the guys knew exactly where they were on the field!
