I would like this LSU v. Bama game to be something that both teams can be very proud of, no matter what the result. I'd like to see no injuries, good sportsmanship, good execution, and few turnovers and penalties . . . and I'm talking about BOTH teams here. The whole country will be watching our game, and I'd like everybody to be very impressed with both teams. Of course, I want LSU to win . . . and not because of some fluke play.
Comparing records of opponents is a tricky and pretty inaccurate way to judge a team's talent. Bama hasn't beaten anybody that great, but they have beaten everybody that has been put in front of them and are 9-0. LSU's best win is against AU which is a very good team. AU, however, handed LSU that game on a silver platter. If you're going to get into opponents' records and margins of victory against common opponents and things, then I'd suggest you first look at a W for Bama vs. an L for LSU against a common opponent in UT. I think that the only real way to compare two teams against each other is to consider the matchups between the two teams. One team's offense vs. the other's defense and so on. That gives you a much better idea of how the two teams will play each other. Different teams match up better than other teams do so comparing Bama's strengths and weaknesses against LSU's is the only safe way to do it. However, the two teams playing each other is really the only way you can figure out which team is better.
It is time for LSU to make a statement. We cannot use Addai's ankle injury as a crutch, "no pun intended" There is no reason why our defense can't control Bama's line and pressure Brodie all day. They could only muster 3 offensive points against Missippi State. If we want any respect and BCS consideration as a legit team, we have to make a statement. I am personally putting this on Coach Miles. I was glad to see him come here, but it is his time to "nutt-up" and start being the coach this school needs. LSU 35 Bama 10 :geauxtige
....let's see, ranked #4 in the country, in position to secure the SEC West this week...I'd say CLM's testicular fortitude is at an all-time high. He'll probably not sleep well this week knowing that you're "personally" putting the outcome of the game on him. Just when will CLM be the coach this school needs? "It is his time to nutt-up and start being the coach this school needs"??????????????????????????????????? :dis:
I hear what you are saying and agree, the only way to know will be after the game. The thing I find funny though is our big win over AU was handed to us on a silver platter, yet I don't see you say the same about Tenn. who fumbled inside your 10 twice? Both sides can pick at this or that but it won't matter come game time, for all we know this game could turn out to be a shoot-out. Naw........Defense and Special Teams will be the big factors........
