I wrote the guy who wrote the article a very pleasant but firm e-mail, explaining that (1) I am a 53-year old female with a law degree and that (2) I will be driving through Tuscaloosa next week on my way to Baltimore for Thanksgiving. I invited him to lunch or, in the alternative, a personal visit so that he could find out that I don't smell like corn dogs and that being called "Tiger Bait" doesn't really hurt that much, even though that's exactly what his team was last week when they fizzled. Anyway, I hope he will respond and feel responsible for meeting me. I will let you all know if it happens.:geauxtige

  5. Good for you. He'll probably hide though, he has to know that all of that stuff he just filled everybodys head with is crap. Worm. :cuss:

I ALWAYS post in a positive way and try to avoid any conflict (as a lawyer also, I deal with conflict daily) on this forum. But, that prik is a first class idiot! The thrust of the whole article is to try and degrade and promote hatred of LSU fans. The silly ass notion that he can justify his crap by suggesting that he did not intend to degrade or promote hatred betrays his true intention to do just that.

I pitty the sucker that should ever take this guys advice and walk up behind me or my wife and take a wiff.....all he will be smellin is the crap that I just beat out of his sorry ass.

I figured the guy was a student at UA, so I did a search of Austin Phillips on facebook and it brought up a grad student. I imagine he's probably a young journalism major spewing out played out stereotypes instead of being able to present good sports articles. Either that or it's some poor excuse for consolation to Alabama fans to make fun of the other team that they lost to, instead of being able to revel in a victory.

I think we should all stop taking this kid with an unimaginative mind so seriously. Just about anyone can be a journalist today. This guy is probably too ugly to be on TV and has too few teeth to be able to understand him. He's obviously too immature to take any of your emails to heart, I'm sure. He probably thrives off it because he has the mentality of an 8 year old.

well put Logan. Nothing he stated in the article is something that hasn't been said about LSU fans before. Obviously he isn't displaying the "class" that Alabama fans love to talk about, right behind their 12 national titles and the Bear. I haven't seen any of this so called "class", especially in the Alabama news media. All I have seen has been news articles making light of LSU's lack of tradition or a tradition of hooliganism. They throw around the word "class" so much that it loses any meaning in relation to football. Is class being nice to an opposing fan? Or is it being gracious in defeat? Having been in Tuscaloosa for the game and for two other gameday's as well, I didn't see much of either.

When bad behavior by LSU fans occurs, no one is more disappointed that I am. I never have understood why some folks feel that buying a ticket to a game, concert, show, etc. entitles or licenses them to behave any way they wish. I've witnessed some pretty regretable behavior in Tiger Stadium and I think most would be ashamed if, for instance, the next day, you could show them a video of their behavior. Fortunately for us all, 99% of our fans are great fans and better people. Sad that a few create a negative perception by others.

I've seen bad behavior in all sorts of venues. LSU has no franchise on idiots, as this so-called writer would assert. Idiots are everywhere. We now know there's one in Alabama trying to become a writer. I hope he gets better. :dis:
