I'm sure you will all have plenty of time to drink to the point where you start a fight with an old man and hit a kid with Down's Syndrome in the back of the head with a full cup of bourbon and coke like I saw last year in the North End Zone in Tuscaloosa. Then you'll have enough ambulatory stability, maybe, to get back to your tailgate and dance in the street with your pecker sticking out of your zipper while you block traffic, like I saw on University Boulevard in Tuscaloosa on the way out last year. You can still make it to your normal "just south of soccer hooligan" fanbase by 2:30, I believe in you!
Yeah right. I used to be a big fan of the LSU fanbase until the game in Tuscaloosa last year. I even had a CD with all the LSU band stuff on it that I played a good bit and hell I even got a screen name on here to converse with ya'll. Then last year I witnessed the most vulgar, obscene, distasteful fan culture I have ever seen, BY FAR when the 30k or so without tickets showed up in Tuscaloosa. How anyone can have their kids around that scene is beyond me. It was not isolated either, so don't try to use the "few bad apple" argument. I was really disappointed to see it too bc the good side of the LSU fan experience I had for years was totally erased.
I was there in '05 and '07 with my husband and in-laws who are all Bama fans. Both times they tailgated with the LSU faithful and were not treated in such a way. In fact, my husband heard more vulgar comments made to my friends and I leaving the game in '05 than he'd heard in his entire life.
No, its not B.S. It happened, in row 43 of Section N-1. The young boy that sits behind me every game was drilled in the back of the head with a full cup of bourbon by some a-hole LSU fan when Arenas ran the punt back for a TD. And the responses to the post are EXACTLY what I expected.
I've tailgated with them too. In Baton Rouge they have fed us gumbo several times and invited us to join them. Then last year happened. It was disgraceful.
