We've played 2 SEC games without Prothro so far. We struggled against Ole Miss, scoring only one touchdown, it's true. However, we did move the ball fairly well but fumbles and penalties killed drives. That was coming off an off week and a very emotional win over UF, it was a trap game with UT coming to town the next week. UT has a great defense and we struggled against it, that was a big rivalry game. I'm not making excuses, just stating facts, but it's true that our offense has been poor the last 2 SEC games. But like I said, DJ Hall has stepped up big time at receiver and I look for him to continue his great play. The thing about the OM and UT games, Bama won both. The defense allowed 13 points in those two games. The thing is, your defense isn't as good as UT's, not even close. That and our offense has had UTST and still has MSU to get things back on track before your tigers come to T-Town. The offense will be better by the time yall get here and the defense, well they'll still be amazing.
Tidesports is a pretty good sight, they have their homers just like everyone else. I've got a better one though. Please come on over and meet a great group of fans. You will not find a more respectful fan board out there period. All are welcome, all we ask is keep it clean for the under 18 members. A little introduction on your first post before the smack talk begins, and no trolls. Pretty much one rule/ Dont be a D%@#. Enjoy the site, great job guys! See you in a few weeks. http://www.crimsontusks.com/
I love the way you say your defense is much better than tenn. But your off only scored 6 points. HOW BAD is your offense. You know our offense is much better than Tenn and OLe myth. YOu state how penalalties and fumbles killed your drives. Well that is what happened against FL for us. If we dont give up 5 turnovers we prob win by 40. You use it as an excuse for ya'll but dont factor that into our analysis. Your game against florida was impressive, but we are much better than them (5 turnovers and 12 penalties and we still win) Oh yeah since the florida game yall have avg 9.5 pts in sec play without prothro. I think yall have more questions to answer than us. You better hope that defense is proven against a good offense, because we are bringing the highest scoring SEC offense to town.
Not to be argumentative, but the highest scoring SEC offense has a game in Athens, GA that day. Unless Brandon Cox and Kenny Irons are transferring, Auburn averages 33.5 to LSU's 32.9.
Not at all 99, Just a salutation and invitation. But just to stir the pot a little, lets break down some numbers and give a little preface. Much has been said of Alabama’s lack of offense since the Florida game. You would be blind to say that Tyrone Prothro's loss has not been felt. Before Tyrone’s injury Bama averaged 30 points per game. Since the injury Bama is averaging 18. That’s almost half for any Auburn fans here ( HEY TM):hihi: . The big threat of Tyrone being gone has freed up many a secondary corps and allowed linebackers to key in on the running game more so than in the past. Leading up to the injury, opposing defenses had to come up with two gamelans. One for Bama and one for Prothro. The contrast is apparent and adjustments necessary. The question is, were they successful? Yes and no. Lets look at the numbers so far as LSU and ALABAMA are concerned. The leaders in each: Quarterbacks: LSU JR is averaging 63% PAC with 1551 yards with 9 PATD and 5 INT’s. BAMA BC is averaging 62% PAC with 1814 yards with 12 PATD and 2 INT Pretty close numbers, don’t you agree. Running Back: LSU JA has 649 yards on 132 attempts averaging 4.9 YPC with 7 RTD BAMA KD has 846 yards on 150 attempts averaging 5.6 YPC with 3 RTD Again pretty close, JA has 4 more RTD. KD has a higher average. Receiving: LSU DB has 19 receptions for 374 yards 19.7 Avg. and 6 TD BAMA DJH has 34 receptions for 537 yards 15.8 average and 4 TD Touchdown leader for Bama is Tim Castile (fullback) with 6 and Joseph Addai (RB) for LSU with 7. These are the offensive leaders; others are left out for no other reason than to make a small point. These 4 or 5 guys will set the tone for the offensive side of the ball. They are all more alike than not. Yes, younger and non stat leading players can and will step up IMHO. But the scoring O will fall on these four men’s shoulders. Whether they do it themselves or rally and inspire their teammates. It is safe to say at this point in the season, we have a lot in common. Now having said that, Anybody wanna talk defense?
by the time we go to bama we will have the highest scoring off. dont you agree? You did get me though.
Perhaps one of the best posts by a bama visitor yet, Roll Tide Forev. One of the first to even acknowledge any problems with Bama's offense. Nobody believe's that Bama's offense is non-existent, but it is definitely not the same.
