A rematch doesn't make sense to me. Let's say both LSU and Bama win out. This includes an LSU win in the SECCG. Essentially this means that LSU has to win an extra game, while Bama is sitting at home. Plus, how can a team that hasn't won its conference play in the MNC? I know Oklahoma did in '03, but I thought there was much criticism surrounding that...

Yeah...that's what I'm thinking too. Would suk for us, IMO.

    I'd rather slaughter Boise.

Who do you think beats Stanford then? You have them beating Oregon a few posts up and jumping Bama in the BCS. I believe that Stanford will lose to Oregon and possibly ND. Their defense is marginal in a weak conference.

I also still believe OK State loses to OU for pretty much the same reason, no defense. All their games have pretty much been shootouts....didn't ULL score 30 something on them? Nevermind, I looked it up. ULL scored 34.

Perhaps winning a cc doesn't count, but playing for one does - at least for those conferences that have a cc...ask Georgia in 2007.

When you think about it, what else could Les have said? Any other response would appear that he lacks confidence to beat them again, or something like that. He answered the question perfectly, he has no control over who we play, might as well be magnanimous.

    I agree.

He took the high road in that response and I believe it was heart-felt.

My initial thought was, "what a classy guy!" and then I thought, "this will be replayed ad nauseum by the press". Hope I'm wrong.

yep there was nothing insincere about his comment. and why should he think anything different. bring em on. thats how he thinks and his team reflects it.

his own inner confidence. a quiet swagger if you will.

You're right Tirk, made me wonder why is it that Les never seems to feel the pressure? Look at every other stress ball coach in the SEC...Saban, Spurrier, Richt, Chizik(sp), Urban Meyer (last few years), etc, they look like they're about to blow a gasket on the sideline and Miles maintains his composure (except at referees on occasion).

I mentioned this in another post, but it's his demeanor that keeps our boys loose....I love it.
