arrogant, arrogant, I'm so sick of the "all talent, idiot coaching" comments. According to bama fans, it's all coaching and talent doesn't matter, but with LSU it's all the players and coaching doesn't matter.

Anyone can get beat in the SEC, that's why it's the entire body of work that matters.

And I'm not Saban hater, but I've watched him closely for a lot longer than most bama fans, game day coaching decisions ain't his strongest suit, recruiting, pre-game planning and preparation, he's excellent, but he does lose games he shouldn't. Where do they figure come game day, we're too stupid to win?

Bama friends here, that's what ticks me off.

Not in 08 that's for sure. I expect another seven to eight win season unless John Parker Wilson finds some magic completion and accuracy dust. But these recruits in this 08 class from a physical standpoint are quite impressive and I think that's why many think a lot of them have an opportunity to contribute at some point in 08. But contribute to the point of "contending"? I don't think so.

I think this is realistic. I don't have any doubt that bama will crawl back into contention. I get the feeling that auburn will be the ones that may take a step back.

But I see no evidence that we're on the way down, not in recuiting, coaching or anything in the state of the program to indicate this.

LSU fans who think that saban can't win are ignoring his past history and what appears to be happening. bama fans who think miles is an idiot and all of our success are due to saban are just as wrong.

Yep. Basic "logic" between the two fanbases suggests if on team is up, then the other has to be down.

Is is not possible for each to remain/become competitive?

No kidding. ND had a top 10 class last year...

Sure didn't make them a contender.

Wow, gump fans are really setting themselves up for a hard fall if things don't work out like they plan. Do they really think that pitiful team they had last year is only a few true freshmen away from competing with national championship caliber teams? If Saban wins fewer than 9 games next year which is very possible if not probable the gumps are going to be on suicide watch.

Judging an entire fanbase by a few frustrated bloggers and anonymous internet characters doesn't seem like a good policy. Most Bammers have learned some humility recently, as we did in the 90's, and are being realistic about the new SEC. The most childish among them just seem to be obsessed with Les.
