That's nuts. Go after the best you can afford no matter where they are employed now. How did promoting from within work out for Mike Archer? For Mallory and Peveto?
And he's talking about taking someone's left overs, he can't even come up with his own screen name, he had to steal yours.
Wow. Really. You can follow me on any platform as Winston318. Now back to what I was saying, every DC turned CLM down. He interviewed a few of them and for what ever reason we hire the guy that Saban demoted.
If memory serves there were quote a few that weren't happy with the Steele hire, hell I was one of them but I'm willing to let it ride and see what happens.
I was and am still not thrilled by the hire, but hiring someone's position coach is usually how these things go, even for top tier programs. Just because Miles hired Steele doesn't mean no one wanted the job. Hell O was willing to come as DL coach. His logic is flawed, not necessarily his criticism of the hire. However I think Steele has potential as DC. Time will tell how he does, but I think some change was needed, especially at DL and recruiting.
Think it was the other way around, buddy. At least a few of them, CLM turned down. He's got his reasons for what he's doing, and often times those reasons are beyond what the average fan is aware of.
Yep, I agree. I wasn't bowled over with the hire either, but a change needed to be made, and the entire package of new coaches should work out well.
